Happy Ohio New Year!

And just like that, we’ve turned another page and it’s officially 2024. Each year, it seems, goes a bit faster than the one before. And, as we shed a few tears over a verse or two of Auld Lang Syne, we start to think about plans for the new year.

Ohio New Year

What plans do you have for this Ohio new year? There’s so much to see and do here in the Buckeye State! Challenge yourself to add a new Ohio experience to your plans at least once a month in 2024. If that’s more than your schedule can afford, make it every season.

Explore Ohio in 2024

Take some time and browse our website. You’ll find so much to do.

Are you a Buckeyes fan? Consider taking a tour of the ‘Shoe on campus. Afterward you can visit the libraries of OSU, stop in to see the fossils at the free museum at Orton Hall and take a walking tour of campus. Bring your lunch and have a picnic on the Oval. Or, if you’re a pizza lover, order yourself a pie from Adriatico’s which is one of our favorite Ohio pizzas.

Budget Friendly Ohio

Looking for a budget friendly outing? The National Museum of the Air Force near Dayton is a great choice. You can easily spend the entire day there and both admission and parking are free. Just be sure to get a cone at nearby Young’s Jersey Dairy afterward.

Old Man's Cave is a great place to explore Ohio in 2024. This photo is of a stone bridge above a waterfall that spills into a green pool below.

Natural Ohio

Do you love hiking? Explore the Hocking Hills, the crown jewel of our state park system. There are lots of hikes and most of them are pet friendly. Ash Cave has a handicapped accessible trail which is good for guests with mobility issues or for parents with strollers. Or, if you’re headed to Northern Ohio, explore Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the only National Park in our state.

Wild (and not so wild) Ohio

Maybe your tastes range a little more exotic. Did you know that you can take a safari trip right here in Cambridge, Ohio? You’ll see rhinos, giraffes, ostrich and more on your tour at The Wilds.

If wild animals are, well, too wild for you, consider a visit to the farm at Slate Run near Canal Winchester. It’s part of the Columbus Metro Parks system and admission and parking are free. Afterward, stop by Brew Dog for food and craft beer.

Ohio Islands

Want to get away where life is a little more laid back? Does an island vacation appeal to you? Visit one of Lake Erie’s Ohio islands. Put in Bay on South Bass Island offers a lively experience and the crowd at Kelleys Island is a little quieter and certainly family friendly.
